How Our Sticker Printing Process Works
Step 1: Place Your Order & Upload Artwork
Call our Sales Team to place your order over the phone, or order your custom stickers online and use our step-by-step order tool to choose the options you need. You can also choose whether you would like to upload your own sticker artwork (we accept PDF (preferred), JPEG, PSD, AI, EPS and PNG files) or create bespoke, expert artwork for you at no extra cost.
Step 2: Review & Proof Approval
Once we receive your order, our team checks it to make sure the design looks good and aligns with our printer and cutter specifications. If we need to make any adjustments, we will send you a proof for your approval before we print. This gives you peace of mind that someone is making sure they'll look great before they are printed.
Step 3: Professional Printing & Finishing
When your customised stickers are ready to print, we send them to our state-of-the-art printers, which churn out thousands of high-quality printed stickers and labels every day. After printing, your stickers will be sent to the laminators, laser cutters and/or slitting machines, depending on your specifications, to give them the final finishing touches.
Step 4: Final Quality Check & Dispatch
Our printing team will give your stickers a final once-over to make sure they match your requirements. When we’re satisfied, we’ll box your order up and send it straight to you (using FREE next-day delivery for Pro orders).
Our printing process usually takes 1-3 working days from start to finish. It may take longer if there are any issues with your order, but we pride ourselves on our fast turnaround and will always endeavour to get your order to you as quickly as possible.
How You Can Customise Your Stickers
Shape
We can create personalised stickers in any shape you like! This includes classic shapes like square, round, rectangle and oval stickers; as well as completely custom shaped stickers that have a completely unique contour. A lot of our customers select custom stickers cut to shape for making die-cut stickers, where the unique shapes are a defining feature.
Size
We can supply your custom cut stickers in any size, from 20mm x 20mm right up to 284mm x 974mm. If you're not sure what size you'll need, we recommend measuring their intended application surface before you order.
Material
Our custom stickers can be made of either paper or polypropylene plastic (a material similar to vinyl), and both have several styles you can choose from, depending on how you want them to look.
Choose our paper sticker material to make matt, gloss or textured paper stickers. Paper materials tend to be our cheapest material options, and they are more environmentally friendly, but they are not as durable as polypropylene. We would therefore only recommend paper materials for stickers likely to be used in dry, indoor environments.
Alternatively, choose our polypropylene material to make opaque, transparent, metallic or holographic stickers. Polypropylene is an ideal material if you need a more durable sticker that can handle frequent water exposure, harsh weather conditions and excessive handling. However, it is more expensive and, while it can be recycled, it's not as environmentally friendly as paper.
Adhesive
All stickers need an adhesive backing of course, but not all adhesives are created equal. We have two adhesives for you to choose from - our standard, high-tack, permanent adhesive, or our low-tack, temporary adhesive.
Our permanent adhesive is designed to stay stuck on a surface once it has been applied. We call this our standard adhesive as it is the better option for most sticker uses.
Our temporary adhesive is similar to static cling, but slightly stronger. It is made to keep a sticker on its surface, but can be removed without damaging the surface or leaving any residue after a period of time. This adhesive is ideal for things like barcode or sales stickers, where they are typically removed after the item is sold.
Finish
Depending on how you intend to use your custom stickers, you might wish to add an extra layer of lamination. Lamination can be added to any of our polypropylene label materials, and it will make your stickers even more durable while enhancing the final finish.
Our gloss lamination will give your stickers a bright, shiny finish, as well as maximum protection against the elements. We recommend our gloss lamination in particular if you want to make completely waterproof stickers, or if you want something as resistant to harsh outdoor weather and excessive handling as possible.
Our matt lamination, meanwhile, will give your stickers a more subdued, sophisticated look. It gives stickers a smoother, silkier texture that is more similar to paper than our gloss lamination. It can also be easily written on with a ballpoint pen or permanent marker. However, it does not offer quite the same level of extra protection as our gloss lamination when it comes to scuffs and scratches, so if you need absolute maximum durability, gloss is the way to go.
Supply
You can choose to have your sticker supply format personalised as well, with the option of rolls, sheets or individual cut/kiss-cut.
Sticker rolls are our most popular option, as they are the most convenient for large orders and the supply option of choice if the stickers are going to be applied quickly by hand or mechanical application.
Sticker sheets are the only option available with our Basic orders, as well as the only option for our sticker sheets product, where a collection of kiss-cut stickers features on one sheet as a collective artwork. These sheets are ideal for giving away as gifts with your customers' orders, or for producing as saleable products for artists. Plus, many of our customers simply prefer sheets for smaller quantity orders where a roll may be unnecessary.
Individual stickers (also known as singles) are becoming increasingly popular as saleable products or marketing collateral. These can be either custom die-cut stickers, where both the sticker and the backing paper are cut, creating a unique and striking shape, or custom kiss-cut stickers, where only the sticker is cut and the backing paper remains rectangular, which makes them easier to peel and use despite not quite looking as smart as die-cut.
How our Custom Stickers can be used
Some of the most common uses include:
- Product stickers for cosmetics, food, beverage, takeaway and retail packaging
- Packaging seals for e-commerce orders and deliveries
- Branded stickers for marketing, promotions and giveaways
- Logo stickers for laptops, merchandise and brand awareness
- Information signage for packaging, storage or logistics
We know that our customers use our custom stickers in all sorts of ways. This is why we have so many customisation options available - so your stickers can be made unique to suit their intended job.
For instance, if you wanted to use our personalised stickers as promotional material for a brand or event, you could choose a laminated polypropylene material that can withstand outdoor environments and heavy handling as they're being distributed. You might also want to opt for die-cut if you are promoting a specific image, like a logo, as it will really emphasise the logo’s shape, thereby leaving a longer lasting impression among target audiences.
On the other hand, if you’re intending to get custom stickers printed for branding or information purposes, then rolls might be the better choice, as these are easier to manage and apply to items quickly. Depending on the items in question, you could either go for a paper material to cut down on cost and emphasise a product’s environmentally friendly nature, or choose a polypropylene material if durability is a concern.
Personalised stickers for personal uses
If your intended use for our stickers is more personal (such as for crafting projects, or to decorate your own belongings) your ideal sticker would come down to personal preference. If you’re looking for something shiny and striking, maybe try using our metallic or holographic material. If you’re making stickers using photos as the artwork, you might prefer using our white polypropylene material with gloss lamination to provide photograph-like quality.
Alternatively, if your personalised stickers are not likely to be handled or jostled about too badly, paper stickers could be a budget-friendly solution for you, but we would strongly recommend polypropylene if you are intending to use your stickers on your phones, binders, computer equipment or other heavily used items. Please note that none of our stickers are fully dishwasher safe.
