Why choose vinyl stickers and labels?
Vinyl labels are, as their name suggests, labels made from vinyl; a plastic material. Most labels in the world are printed on one of two materials: plastic compounds like vinyl, or paper. Both materials have their own strengths and weaknesses.
Our vinyl stickers and labels are printed on clear, white or metallic vinyl material, using our HP Indigo 6000 digital printing equipment and inks for optimum quality and clarity. They are then backed with permanent or temporary adhesive, depending on the label’s intended use. We normally recommend using our permanent adhesive, as the temporary adhesive is designed for short-term use and will not stay on products indefinitely.
Your labels and stickers can also be laminated with a gloss or matt finish. This lamination makes the vinyl even more long-lasting, as well as waterproof, scratch resistant, heat resistant and impervious to oils and chemicals. This is why our waterproof labels and candle labels are both made from laminated vinyl.
Custom vinyl stickers and labels are slightly more expensive than paper, but that extra spending comes with significant advantages. Laminated polypropylene vinyl labels can be utilised just about anywhere without needing to worry about any damage happening to the label or print job.
Where our labels work best
These personalised vinyl labels’ greatest strengths lie in their durability, flexibility and versatility. They are true multi-purpose labels that will suit most of your labelling needs.
In product labelling, their ability to stand up to hot, cold or wet environments with ease makes them a fantastic option. Products kept in kitchens, bathrooms and similar places can stay in showers or freezers without the label loosening or becoming waterlogged. Their flexibility also makes them easy to stick on items with odd shapes, like bevelled bottles and rounded jars.
On product or inventory packaging, our vinyl labels make great barcodes, asset labels and sequentially numbered stickers. Vinyl’s resistance to oils, chemicals and scratching means these labels can be regularly handled without the printwork being lost to wear and tear. You can use a fine-tip permanent marker directly on the labels if you need to add any extra information, too.
Similarly, areas that get consistently cleaned or picked at are little match for a vinyl label with a permanent adhesive. In restaurants, for instance, our labels can be stuck directly onto tables as QR codes and table numbers. No matter how often they are touched, spilled on or drenched with multipurpose spray, the labels will hold on and stay intact.
You can even use large vinyl sticker printing to make permanent adhesive signs in places like warehouses. Poster-sized vinyl stickers are perfect for adding health and safety information, detailed instructions or signposts to floors, walls or ceilings. Regular footfall and exposure to harsh cleaning chemicals will not make the ink on these vinyl labels run or cause them to peel.

Vinyl Label FAQs
How do you apply vinyl labels?
To apply a self-adhesive vinyl sticker, we recommend working slowly and carefully to avoid air bubbles or mis-alignment. Remove the backing paper and stick one edge of the label onto its desired place. Continue to smooth the label down, little by little, until it fully adheres to the surface.
Is vinyl better than paper stickers?
Not necessarily. Paper labels are less expensive, more eco-friendly and can add a unique touch of class to products. Vinyl labels, meanwhile, are much stronger, more customisable and can withstand extreme conditions. Which label material is better will depend on which specifications are most important to you.
Do vinyl labels stick to plastic or metal? Absolutely!
Plastic and metal are low-energy surfaces, which means they are not normally good at keeping things like labels on. But the standard permanent adhesive on the back of our labels is made to stick firmly onto any common plastic or metal items.
Vinyl labels are durable, flexible and resistant to adverse conditions, making them fantastic for a diverse range of applications. To order your own, start by getting an instant price with our online calculator.
