What are removable labels?
All self-adhesive labels have an adhesive layer, and that layer’s stickiness, or ‘tack’, will vary, depending on the label’s intended use. If the label needs to stay on its product for as long as possible, a permanent, or high tack, adhesive is used. Removable labels, meanwhile, have a temporary, or low tack, adhesive. This allows them to still stick onto most surfaces, but also means they can be peeled off easily and without causing damage.
Our professionally printed removable labels come on white, clear or metallic polypropylene plastic material, and we use HP Indigo 6000 digital printing equipment for optimum clarity. The labels are then finished with either standard or glossy lamination, and can be supplied on rolls, sheets, or as individually cut pieces.
These low-tack adhesive labels also come with a reverse printing option, where the design is printed on the adhesive side of the sticker. Reverse printed stickers are often used on clear surfaces like windows, where the removable label can be applied on the inside and seen from the outside.
Ways to use these removable stickers and labels
Our personalised removable stickers are a great non-permanent labelling solution for any situation where being easily peelable (and, sometimes, resealable) is essential.
These peelable labels are particularly handy in retail environments, where prices, promotions and similar information often need updating. They are easy to apply and peel off paper products, like books or greeting cards, without causing any tearing. They can be used on items sold at market stalls and auctions, and swiftly removed at the point of sale. The removable labels are perfect for adding and updating size information on hangers in clothes stores, too.
Our labels are brilliant for window displays as well. We can print out large, low-tack stickers for classroom or library windows, or for shop windows during temporary promotions. You can then remove them with one quick, easy peel when ready. Although our plastic removable labels do not usually leave any residue, you may find some traces if the sticker was displayed for a while. We recommend using nail varnish remover or light soapy water to remove any residue you see.
Removable labels can also give resealable functionality to bags and packs of product packaging where, unlike jars and bottles, the packaging cannot be resealed once opened. Add these labels to coffee or confectionery packs and give your customers the option to reseal them as they’re used. Be aware that the sticking power of our custom removable stickers and labels reduces with each use, so you might want to advise resealing with them sparingly.
