What are permanent labels?
As their name suggests, permanent labels are
self-adhesive labels designed to stick onto something and stay there, in any and all conditions.
For a self-adhesive label to be permanent, it needs to have a strong, high-tack adhesive. Once the adhesive on our permanent labels forms a bond with a surface, the labels can endure just about anything. We say ‘just about’, because there may be some rough or dirty surfaces where the label will not stick properly. If you’d like to test our labels first, to see if they will suit your needs, please request a
sample pack from us.
These permanent adhesive labels are available on gloss, matt or textured paper, as well as clear, metallic or white plastic polypropylene (PP) material. They can be ordered in a range of shapes and sizes, and we recommend finishing them with matt or gloss lamination for maximum durability. Take a look at our
custom labels page for more information on our customisation options.
Ways to use these permanent stickers and labels
Our extra strong adhesive labels are ideal to use in any situation where a permanent, non-removable sticker solution is needed.
The fact that they adhere to challenging surfaces, including metals, woods and low-energy plastics, makes them a great multi-purpose label in houses and offices. Use them to label furniture, to add instructions to appliances and equipment, or even to decorate personal items like laptops, if you so wish.
In warehouses and industrial environments, our laminated labels’ ability to be scratched at or wiped down regularly without getting damaged is particularly useful. They can be used as barcode labels and asset tags on equipment, or as signposting on floors, walls and ceilings.
Adding lamination also makes our permanent labels
waterproof, tearproof and resistant to UV sunlight, oils and chemicals. This makes them perfect for outdoor applications, like QR code labels on restaurant tables or health and safety signs at local attractions.

Printed High Tack Sticker FAQs
What’s the difference between temporary and permanent labels?
Temporary, or removable labels, are backed with a low tack adhesive and designed to be removed cleanly once no longer needed. High tack, permanent labels, meanwhile, are designed to stay on once they are applied.
How long do high tack adhesive labels last?
In theory, a permanent label should last indefinitely. But if the label is constantly exposed to extremely rough conditions, the adhesive may lose its strength with time.
How can I make sure my sticker stays on permanently?
If you want to do everything you can to ensure your label stays stuck, we recommend the following:
- Clean and dry your surface before applying the label. This will give the label the best chance of bonding with the surface.
- When applying, work slowly and carefully to avoid air bubbles or mis-alignment.
- Consider using round labels, as labels with corners are more likely to peel.
Permanent labels are the go-to solution when a label needs to stay stuck to its surface. To order your own, fill out our online calculator and be quoted an instant price.
